Supported/Integrated Employment and Skill Building Assistance 

The Vocational Department supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health conditions and substance use disorders to enter community employment for the first time, re-enter employment after an absence or assist with building future career goals. The Vocational Department provides education, training, guidance, direct skills learning, and opportunities to obtain and sustain individualized, competitive integrated employment. 

Vocational Specialist work closely with individuals and supports, including case managers, therapists and treatment teams, to develop pathways with regards to community employment. Employment opportunities are guided by the priorities, interests, strengths, financial, and career outcomes of the person. 

Vocational Specialists create opportunities by connecting with local employers. These connections are to learn about employer’s business, tasks/duties, environment, hiring practices, employee expectations, and general hiring needs. With the information and established relationships, Vocational Specialist seek to make meaningful connections between people and employers. 

The Vocational Department is dedicated to serving all eligible individuals, regardless of diagnosis, recovery status or their life journey. The Vocational Department believes all individuals should have the opportunity to work, connect with their communities and have purpose.
