Community Mental Health offers walk in or call crisis 24 Hours a Day (Walk-in services are for those in immediate crisis and cannot wait for an appointment). Contact Us to get directions to the CMH Building. Crisis services provides crisis intervention, assessment, and screening for voluntary and involuntary psychiatric hospitalization.

Would you like to make a positive difference in your community? Do you have free time available? CMHA-CEI has a variety of volunteer opportunities!

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Complete Volunteer Information Sheet
  • Police clearance check is required.
  • Schedule appointment with HR Staff to obtain ID Badge
  • Must schedule TB Test and Training date with CMHA-CEI Training Unit
  • Two Tuberculosis (TB) skin tests within the first two weeks of orientation (agency provided).
  • As applicable to the work performed, will be knowledgeable about and actively support culturally competent recovery based practices, person centered planning as a shared decision making process with the individual, who defines his/her life goals and is assisted in developing a unique path toward those goals, and a trauma informed culture of safety to aid consumers in the recovery process.
  • Additional training may be required.

 Volunteer Details

Assist adults with specific community based activities. Initiate and organize a project activity from beginning to end with staff assistance. Ability to adjust projects/activities to the abilities of the consumers participating in order to engage the consumer.
